Step 1 – The Consultation The Consultation is a free service we offer to homeowners interested the the services we provide. This is a chance for SCS to meet with homeowners and create a goal of what the customer wants to improve in their home. Whether the customer is thinking of a complete energy remodel, a new addition, or just wants to fix a drafty room; the SCS team will create an Action Plan and discuss each potential course of action with the customer. After we have completed this step of the process the customer will come away with a plan of how their needs will be met. Energy Remodels Customers interested in an energy remodel will meet with a SCS repersentative and together complete the Energy Consultation Worksheet. The worksheet begins with a series of questions that give the SCS representative a general idea of the problems the customer is experiencing. Next the customer and SCS representative will conduct a room by room walk through of the home. During the walk through the customer can point out specific problems. The SCS representative will note all problems and make notes about other potential sources of energy loss that may be unseen by the customer. After the home has been checked inside and out, the SCS representative will discuss different products and services designed to correct the inefficiencies of the home. The SCS representative, with the homeowner, will generate an Action Plan. This plan will include the appropriate products and services that will correct the energy innefficiencies in the home. In some cases SCS will reccomend the homeowner receive an Energy Audit. The energy audit is discussed in Step 2 of the process. Renovations and Additions If you are interested in an addition or renovation an SCS representative will meet you to discuss potential ideas for the project. The SCS representative will listen to your wants and needs and together you will come up with an Action Plan to complete the project. The action plan will include options for both green and traditional products and services. Once an Action Plan has been developed SCS will put together a pricing guide and present this to the homeowner. After explaining the different options and costs the SCS representative will help the customer complete a cost/benefit analysis. This tool alows the homeowner to compare the prices and the potential value of both green and traditional products. Once the Action Plan has been completed for the addition or renovation the process moves to the Pre-Construction Meeting.
